Barnes & Noble is not trustworthy

Barnes & Noble is not trustworthy. I paid good money to get specific DVD's and Blu Rays with specific artwork and editions. Every single item I received was the movie I asked for, but a different edition or with different artwork than the one pictured, and the worst part, one movie I ordered, the 20th anniversary edition of L.A Confidential, was supposed to include a digital code and it was not in the case when I opened it, so the item I ordered was incomplete. I like to collect some of my favorite movies, it annoys me that I didn't receive what was pictured and instead they half-a*sed it. There's still 1 item missing from my total order which was supposed to arrive later than the rest, on June 9th, and yet it's still in pre order. Why do they need to pre order a film to sell it to me if their site says it's in stock? Never dealing with them again, too many things went wrong and I could've gotten better on ebay with less money spent.
EDIT: I appreciate their fast and quality customer service, that's the only reason I'm editing this review to 3 stars. I still wish I had gotten the L.A. Confidential dvd that was described in the picture to have a digital code, but they did refund a percentage that basically covers that movie, so at least I didn't lose my money on that particular purchase.

I would prefer to give 0 stars

I would prefer to give 0 stars, but it wasn't an option. I received a gift card for B&N, ordered books online, and only just found out that one of the books on order was completely cancelled. No notification beforehand, and no way to fulfill the otherwise remaining funds on the card. So they basically ripped $30 off from one of my sons. I have always loved Barnes & Noble. No longer. I will never do business with them again.

Website issues

Have been trying to order three books for my mom on the website. It keeps changing my billing information on me when I am not directing it to change anything, and then locked me out when I tried for the tenth time to process the order. I will just drive the extra 30 miles to an independent bookstore.

As a normally happy customer of 15…

As a normally happy customer of 15 years today’s experience in your Redding Ca store was definitely one that can change the way I continue to view this bookstore.
On a normal Thursday morning twice a month my two daughters and I go to the bookstore to purchase more books and enjoy the store. My Daughters were viewing two books in the YA department deciding what to purchase, an employee approached them and told them rudely that sitting by the shelf was Not allowed . Even though in order to reach the lower shelf this position would be necessary. After apologizing and moving to a different location to look once again they were followed by this employee with glares and unprofessional handling of the matter.
On asking this employee I was told that it was CORPORATE POLICY that no sitting by books was allowed . When asked to see this O was told that’s just the policy. When it was pointed out that there was no other way to get to the lower bookshelves I was rudely told that “it’s policy”. I understand people have bad days and as I pointed out if that is the policy rudeness is never necessary but professional behavior as the adult in the situation would have been appreciated.
This employee was non apologetic, rude, and abrasive . As a teacher who frequently comes to this store for my children as well as others this matter was handled wrong.

Bye

I will never step foot inside the Boise Idaho Barnes and Nobles ever again. You make the shopping experience unbearable with your draconian face diaper Nazi policies! You can keep your face diaper rules and I will spend my money elsewhere.

RACIST COMPANY

RACIST COMPANY - publishing hate under the guise of WOKE culture and twisting God's word into hate. Recently pushing “A Rhythm of Prayer: A Collection of Meditations for Renewal,” by Sarah Bessey. Who is a racist, God-hating writer corrupting God's message of love to hating white people, probably to build her social media accounts. This writer should be cancelled from everyones reading lists. While this book sounded promising it fell short. It is filled with political and social propaganda that isn't biblical at all. At one point a woman's prayer is asking for God's help so she can hate, HATE white people and she only wants to view them as klan members. This is the complete opposite of God's teaching. If Sarah is too stupid or too desperate to pander like this to gain readers, Barnes and Noble shouldn't be.

Discourages Reading!

I had first and hopefully the last experience with Barnes&Nobles! You would think they incentivize the reading in 21st century when people tend to read less but they DO NOT. First of all, they don't have an exchange option, you have to return the item first, which will take more than 5 business days, then you should wait until you get a refund (another 3-4 days), only after that you can place a new order and wait 3-5 days. So, overall it may take a month! Then you are responsible for shipping! I bought 3 books and paid around 40$, but I wanted to exchange two (totalling in 21$) in another book but I paid 11.10$ for shipping, so I just lost the money. They don't care about the customer's needs and discourage the reading which is sad at least.

Online vs instore pricing

I [purchased 4 books today at the store and when i got homed they were online for $5 cheaper each and i did not get that price instore. Called store and said bring books back and we can redo the transaction. I live about 50 miles from the store and it will cost me more in gas to return this way. Called website online and talked to customer service and all i got was sorry, take them back and reorder online. You think i could take pic recieot and they could send me a gift card in mail for the difference.: I will shop Amazon from now and and not buy at B&N. Very unhappy customer...

Cant even order a book online.

I tried to order a book and every single time the order failed. I checked my billing and shipping address, everything was fine. I checked if the book was in stock and it was. The website would also often times mix up my billing address with my shipping address multiple times, which was VERY annoying to have to repeatedly edit. Once I checked everything was right I ordered it and every single time it failed. Guess barnes and nobles doesn’t want to sell their books? Its such a simple thing and its so sucky you cant even order a book online. I do not recommend using the barnes and nobles website, don’t waste your patience and time.

Disappointed

I'm very disappointed with Barnes and Noble. I order a book that I wanted to pick up at the store. I picked a store near by. The site said the book was available at that location (Nashua NH). I was placing the order after hours so I didn't expect a response saying the book was available to be picked up that night. Not 10 minutes after placing the order I got an email saying sorry the book is not available at my chosen store. I could try another location or have it shipped. So I tried placing it on Salem NH since they said "in stock." 10 minutes later I got the message that they didn't have stock. Okay 1 store the inventory is not accurate. Same message have it shipped or try another location. Are you kidding me? 2 times is all you get and I go to another store. Not Barnes and Noble. Try to reach anyone to get help with a store that really has the book is not worth it because they gave the same crap that I saw online.

Terrible service

I never write bad reviews, but this is crazy. I ordered a text book and paid extra for two day delivery. After not receiving my book, I contacted them. I was told that it would be several weeks to get it. I have already have had two quizzes without my book. I ordered it from somewhere else and it came in two days. I asked to cancel my order and they said I could not and had to wait until it was delivered in another three weeks. I will never do business with them again. Horrible just horrible.
